Eclipses

An Eclipse takes place when Moon cast shadow on the Earth or when Earth cast shadow on the moon as a result of the beam or rays of light from the Sun.

Eclipse of the Sun (Solar Eclipse)

Eclipse of the sun occurs when the moon comes between the earth and the sun. The moon casts shadow on the Earth. This eclipse is called Total eclipse of the sun for Umbra region, while it is partial eclipse for Penumbra region.
