Shadow

An opaque object is an object which does not allow light to pass through it. This resulted in a shadow directly adjacent to the source of the light and the back of the opaque object.

A shadow is formed when an opaque object is placed in the path of a beam or rays of light.

This is the area which light cannot reach because of the obstruction of the opaque object.
