This reminds me of Animal Crossing Bells   the spongebob incident where squidward goes into the neighborhood with different squids.

That is the reason why I can not play pokemon anymore either. Even in the old games, all the characters are just cookie cutter"wow I love my friends and Pokemon!" Unless it is among the gangs. I know it makes it a little easier to appeal to a younger demographic, but games such as Paper Mario or Earthbound have proven that you could have sassy or crude NPC dialogue and kids will still adore it.

Man, have you played with any of the newer Pokemon games? If you thought this was a problem in the older games then you certainly haven't seen anything lol

This. NH is likely a fantasy come true for people who are into decorating and terraforming but to me personally Animal Crossing was going to the villagers and their characters since that's what made it exceptional.

I really don't remember which villager, but on Gamecube I remember one which if you seen him early morning he would tell you that it's too early for people and to escape his residence.

Now every villager is the best buddy.

Villagers in Japan consistently were candy, which later on this was adjusted and they became more similar to what the japanese version is.

I would like villagers who could be assholes. Or villagers who are their own individuals. Allow me to feel like those are actual characters, not simply artsy cookie-cut satisfaction bots given for me to play with.
