NEWTON’S THIRD LAW OF MOTION

NEWTON’S THIRD LAW OF MOTION states that action and reaction are equal and opposite.

The following are application of newton’s third law

1. Rocket moving on high speed with a gas turbine engine. The gas exhausted from the engine push the rocket in opposite direction.
2. A diver uses his hand and leg to push water backward while the reaction produce move the diver forward.

From the newton’s third law

Action = Reaction

MV=mv

The momentum of a jet is equal to the momentum of the exhaust gases in opposite direction. Likewise the momentum of a bullet is equal to the momentum of the gun in opposite direction.
